The McLaren Vale Function Centre, together with our sister business the McLaren Vale Motel & Apartments, is a family-owned and operated boutique property, perfectly located in the heart of McLaren Vale on South Australia’s picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula.
Owners, the Vandeleur family, have a proud history of bringing events to this beautiful region, they played a pivotal role in creating the McLaren Vale Bushing Festival, the first wine festival to really put McLaren Vale on the map as a food and wine destination, as well as the inaugural Oyster South Australia promotional event which ultimately evolved into the hugely successful “Sea & Vines Festival”.
Being part of the fabric of the region from 1958 the Vandeleurs successfully ran the Hotel McLaren. Then in 1981, seeing the need for high-quality accommodation for the region, the family single-handedly set about constructing and managing 44 x 4-star dwellings now known as the McLaren Vale Motel & Apartments
Now, following on from their parent’s influence, the next generation has inherited a community-minded spirit. This steadfast commitment to events that bring families, businesses and community together has led them to create the McLaren Vale Function Centre.
Our property, only 39 kilometres south of Adelaide, is set in beautiful gardens offering comfortable and quiet accommodation for your enjoyment.

The McLaren Vale Function Centre was the perfect location for our annual JBI Staff Retreat & Strategic Planning Days. The function room and alfresco plaza provided everything we required for our planning sessions and break times in the lovely fresh air with amazing food and beverages. Accommodation suited all our requirements and the service from Tina and her team was of an exceptionally high standard.
Everything ran very smoothly and we will definitely consider returning whether for work or play!

McLaren Vale is the perfect location to host our residential Senior Managers meetings. The small Boardroom was ideal for our intimate meeting of 10 delegates, although the pool was a little distracting. Generous 4-star accommodation and friendly staff made our stay very comfortable…we’re back in December so the pool might get a run!
We hosted a highly successful event at the McLaren Vale Function Centre in August. Around 50 delegates enjoyed a great selection of wines in an amazing venue which was planned and serviced to perfection. Definitely be returning to the McLaren Vale Function Centre.
We hosted our ‘Ride for Sick Kids’ function at the McLaren Vale Function Centre which was a massive success! Working with the Events Team we totally transformed the venue into an Italian themed celebration for over 150 revellers…Thoroughly recommend the McLaren Vale Function Centre for any function you have in mind
Great to find the perfect location to host our staff training sessions. Being central and only 30 minutes from Adelaide made coordination so much easier. The catering was perfect with a mixture of healthy and hot options. AV was as simple as plug and play and a great outlook made everyone relax one they had arrived…very productive event which was the ultimate goal.
We hosted a community event at the McLaren Vale Function Centre in October where an unprecedented 400+ locals attended. The staff were amazing in the overall planning of the event and the generosity of the Vandeleur Family to support such a key community event giving some insight to their dedication to the region and industry.
The Council has hosted a number events and conferences at the McLaren Vale Function Centre since its opening in 2017. The accommodation is of great quality, the main function centre, lawns and alfresco space gives us the flexibility to build an event with different aspects…Our partnership with the Vandeleur Family will continue into the future
Over 90 delegates attended the McLaren Vale Function Centre in September for our Agribusiness Sector Technology Event. The catering was simply delicious; the venue perfect for this style of casual event and finally having ‘peace of mind’ knowing the staff was onsite for any technical issues was brilliant…already booked for our Partners Retreat in February
